Impact Outerbanx

Hello everyone. I just wanted to give you a heads up that things are really going well on this mission trip. We are truly able to see the love of God in action by using our hands and feet. I am so proud of our youth and you should be as well. We were also able to see David, Jackie, Jacob and Joshua Blackman yesterday and they seem like they are really doing well. I am supposed to get a picture from Jackie and I will share it with all of you next week when Jackie emails it to me. I will share it at Church. Please keep praying for us as we reach out with Christian love to the people of the Outer Banks who need to feel God's unending love. Blessings to all of you. Philip

There off...

The mission team from Warren's Grove paused for a quick photo before they headed off to the Outer Banks. They had every nook and cranny of the 15 passenger van filled with luggage, drinks, snacks and pillows! Please remember to be in prayer for them this week. Also pray for their families that they left at home!!!

Mission Trip

I wanted to let you all know that I am preparing to go on a mission trip with the youth from Warren's Grove. This is going to be an exciting mission trip and I wanted to ask all of you to be in prayer for us. I pray that we will be able to impact the Outer Banks, where we are going, with the Kingdom of God. And I also pray that we will be impacted by God's wonderful love as we encounter real people that are devoting their lives to God and God's service. Thank you all so much for praying for us.

MERCI

On Wednesday I got to go with the Youth Group to the MERCI center in Goldsboro, NC. We had a great day and a very long day. We packed flood buckets for about 2 1/2 hours [around 55 flood buckets]. And then we went out for lunch. We then went back for 2 hours and we then painted part of the outside of the building. This did really get hot. This is a wonderful organization that is really doing the Lord's work.

MERCI

I wanted to share with you all the great participation we had during Vacation Bible School with our flood buckets for the MERCI center in Goldsboro, NC. These will help those who have suffered from teh tragedy in the midwest with the floods. The youth from Warren's Grove took all of this to MERCI. We also took sewing kits, back packs and layette kits that the United Methodist Women made. Good Job!!!

Hypocrisy and Grace

This is the video introducing our theme for Sunday, July 20th. If for some reason you cannot see this video you can email me and I can burn a DVD for you. Also, if you are new to WikiWorship, then check out this blog post from a couple weeks ago called: What is the Wiki in WikiWorship? Vacation Bible School

I wanted to give you all a quick update about VBS. We are in the midst of VBS at Warren's Grove and last night was terrific. Right here you can see two very excited people about the upcoming night. These are my friends Mike and Robin and they were some of the many leaders that helped make VBS successful. Our theme was Beach Party: Surfin' the Word of God and one of the main characters was a flamingo --- so, we decorated the Church yard with guess what ---- flamingos.

Video

I wanted to let you all know that we had our last WikiWorship team meeting last night and we have decided to go with video to let everyone know about the upcoming topics. We are trying to have a video come out every week letting you know what the next week's topic is going to be. I will try [and I sincerely mean try] to put out this video one week in advance so that everyone will have a good idea about what the topic will be. So, check the blog the week before the July 20th kick-off and you should see some video. If any of you would really like to watch it but your internet connection hinders you from doing that let me know and I will burn you a DVD.

Collection

I wanted to share with you all that the United Methodist Women had a very successful collection of canned goods this last Sunday. All of this will go to help the people that look to the Christian Help Center for support. In our county there are a great deal of people that regularly use the Christian Help Center to help supply their basic needs. It is an honor, for us at Warren's Grove, to be able to help in this worthy endeavor. Keep up the good work!

Themes

I wanted to share with you all that we found some themes in the questions that we gathered during our time of reaching out to the community. Right now, it is a huge number of themes ---- and hopefully we will be able to slim them down some. Here they are:
Biblical Authority
Church - Body of Christ
Demons - Satan
Discipleship
God's Plan
Hypocrisy and Grace
Marriage - Family
Power and Greed
Prayer - Communication with the Triune God
Religions - Denominations
Social Applications
Works Righteousness
We can all see that these themes are much more than can be covered in 6-weeks so please pray for wisdom on which themes can be formed together and which themes should be brought up in the 6-week series. Also, thank you for all of you viewing the blog, I hope that you get a lot out of it.

Post Cards

We are going to be sending post cards out to all the people that live around Warren's Grove and I thought I would give you a sneak peek. We got this through Outreach Marketing and I thought it fit perfect with our theme. It seems like it was made for the WikiWorship campaign. And while I am at it. If you have any person that you would like a post card mailed to please just put their name and address in the comment section or you can email me and I will send it right out. Remember our kick-off date is July 20th at 11am. Can't wait to see you then.

Golfing

I wanted to share with you all that I got to go golfing the other day. I haven't been golfing too many times in my life (to be exact I have been 6 times). But my friends Aaron and Elliot have been wanting to take me for a long time. Here are some of the highlights. I'm not going to tell you how bad I played --- but I did come in last. Here are some of the pictorial highlights.

Kick-off event

You all should mark your calendars. July 20th at 11am we are going to be having our WikiWorship kick-off event at Warren's Grove. It hasn't been decided what topic will be discussed --- but no matter what it should be a time of deep and intriguing conversation. Also, our men's group at Church has decided to feed everyone who comes to the WikiWorship kick-off event lunch --- so all of you are invited to stay for lunch and to continue in our discussions. I am very excited about what is going on with WikiWorship and I want to make sure all of you know that you are invited. Thank you again for following the blog --- I have truly enjoyed writing it.
