Acts 11.1-18

This coming Sunday I will be preaching on Acts 11.1-18. In verse 12 the Apostle Peter says: "The Spirit told me to go with them and not to make a distinction between them and us." In this passage Peter has to jump over hurdles that he had in place. Hurdles that helped distinguish (a Jew) himself from other people (Gentiles). Peter is recounting this story to the leaders in Jerusalem. Telling about what had happened at Cornelius's house ------ and how he remembered what Jesus had said: "John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." (verse 16) By remembering what Jesus had said he knew that what was going on was God ordained. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you remember what Jesus had said and that what is happening makes sense to you?

End of the semester

Hello all. I wanted to just let you know that it is getting near the end of the semester. And this means that I will actually be graduating. Please pray for me while I finish this semester. I have found it really difficult to focus on these last papers because of the excitement of graduation. Thank you to all of you for your prayers and your support throughout these four years. I am truly humbled by that.

Blue Devils - National Champions

I have to just briefly say that I am proud of those Duke Blue Devils. What a game. What a squeeker. And at the end we hung on. What a great closing to a tremendous run.

Maudy Thursday

Last night we had our Holy Wednesday Remember Your Baptism Service. I would like to invite you all out for tonight's service as well. Tonight is our Maundy Thursday Service. At this service we will be serving communion and there will be a time where the altar is stripped of all the paraments. This is to remind us of Jesus being stripped of his glory as he is betrayed and sent to the Sanhedrin Council. Remember to bring your flashlights because the youth will be carrying the crosses out in the church yard. This service is on Thursday, April 1st at 7pm at Warren's Grove. See you then.
